The UKs first continuous pyrolysis plant, located at our Worksop site, has entered the cold testing phase ahead of the full operation launch later this month.
As with any complex piece of technology and engineering, cold testing is an important part of the installation process as it nears completion and is designed to ensure the performance of all systems within the process.
For our pyrolysis plant, functional testing has been carried out successfully to determine the performance and capabilities of systems such as electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic.
Rory Hughes, Technical Director, Carlton Forest Renewables commented; “Our cold testing has been hugely successful and given us great confidence in the future performance of the plant.
“The next stage will be our hot testing, and this will give us even greater data about what we can expect from the plant when it is up and running and will ensure that all elements of the process function effectively.”
